What to Expect

Upon initiating services, we would typically use the first session to identify your goals for therapy, explore what methods we should use and decide how many sessions per week/month you would like to begin utilizing. I see myself as part of your team to help you clearly prioritize and address whatever is keeping you from having the day to day life you want. Depending on the client, homework will be assigned as needed with the expectation being that you will be committed to your own healing and progress.

Who Can Benefit?

My practice methods are best suited for those who have experienced trauma or are dealing with difficulties due to stress, feelings of depression or various adjustments in their current stage in life. I also work alongside parents of children who are behaviorally challenging and provide a space for those who are experiencing grief.

Frequently Asked Questions

What sessions do you offer?

Sessions can be face-to-face meetings in the office or online.

Who is Rin?

Rin is a nine-year-old British Lab who was born and raised at Wildrose Kennels in Oxford, MS. Originally being trained as a duck dog, made her perfect for tolerating loud noises, sudden movements, and waiting for commands. As a registered Pet Partners therapy animal, she has worked within WVHS, helping students de-escalate, regulate their emotions, and feel more at ease in their environment. Rin will typically be in the office and can be used as much or as little as the client prefers.

How long does each therapy session last/office hours?

Office hours are from 10 AM to 6 PM, with each session being given a maximum of one hour of time.

Are there any forms or assessments I need to complete before my first session?

Yes, there will be forms to be completed, however I will walk you through what is needed and where they are located.

How do you ensure confidentiality in therapy sessions?

When starting our services, clients sign a confidentiality agreement. This agreement not only ensures that all information remains private but explains how we keep your information safe. Exceptions to confidentiality only occur when harm has or might potentially take place.

Do you have experience with specific demographics or cultural backgrounds?

I have worked with a wide variety of clients ranging from children and adolescents to adults and families in crisis. I believe each family and client is unique with their own experiences and background to consider and incorporate within the process of therapy.
